Citing another work is the standard method of authenticating data, crediting another worker in the field, or guiding the reader to supplementary or collateral information. For your text, references should be numbered in order of first appearance.
The format for bibliographic references is as follows:

Author last name, first name or initials, co-author(s) first and last name(s) (if applicable). "Paper Title," paper number, publisher name, publisher city, state, year of publication. |
| For articles: |
Author last name, first name or initials, co-author(s) first and last name(s) (if applicable), "Article Title," Magazine or Journal Name, volume and page numbers, publisher name, publisher city, state, year of publication. |
| For books: |
Author last name, first name or initials, co-author(s) first and last name(s) (if applicable), editors (if applicable), Book Title, edition number (if applicable) publisher name, publisher city, state, year of publication. |
Also include ISBN number (if known) after publisher name.
